spatial audio is very important to me

What do you mean by this?  As in you have use this function previously and want to use it again?

Typically this is done naturally with what is called "imaging and sound stage" which are qualities of higher end "audiophile grade" headphones.  Problem with that is there are very few options in this price range IE: sub-$100usd

I honestly know nothing about spatial audio because I think that anything but raw stereo (or surround sound on a home theater when it's applicable) is the only way to do it.  But you've got me wondering if this feature has merit in the budget category.  I'm going to have to research spatial audio, I'm just now recalling that it may be a built in windows feature.  I'm going to play around with it.  However typically people around here don't talk about stuff like that and maybe that should change.  Most people who are interested in audio tend to label most thing's as a gimmick.  But ever since Adam mentioned 7.1 surround on a headset as a good thing in the Audio Technica video..... I'm starting to wonder if there is something beyond the great and strict "audiophile" world.

Audio go Brrrrrr
