Old pc..Help?!

I went out and found a old pc with windows 98 on board and i boot on and it says insert discette in drive A, so i go into bois and it says that the boot drive is flooy so i change to hdd and nothing same thing just different words so i go to an old computer hdd i had laying around with windows XP amd still same problem...anyone have any advice?

does it detect the HDD in the bios? Is everything connected properly? IDE drives, I assume?

I fooled around in the bios for a bit a just reset it and it works like a charm!
