I am Planning on buying a Geforce GTX 780 but cannot afford one at the moment.

I got as hand-me-down card when I completed my build(Geforce GT 240) and now my father got himself a better graphics card so I wanted to use his (another hand-me-down) The Raeon HD 6770.

After removing all the Invidia drivers and putting in the Graphics card I was not able to connect my monitor via the graphics card, only through the mother board.

When I connect it to the card the monitor says "No signal".

I installed the drivers that came with the card and looked online for the updates.

My build:

CPU: i5-4670k

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws x Series 16GB (2x8GB)

SSDSamsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 250GB

Power SupplyCorsair CX Series 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze ATX12V/EPS12V 744 Power Supply CX750M

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

the graphics card maybe be broken. usually in this case.

have you made sure you have the power connector plugged tight into the card? or a different 6 pin maybe? clean the pcie slot from any dust accumulation etc. plugged in motherboard power cables properly (all 24pin& 4/8pins)

Could you install GPU-Z and check if the graphics card is detected there? If it is maybe there is a setting in your UEFI to specify which graphics option to prefer.

Wait, wouldn't the IGP of a 4670k be a bit better than a GT 240? I'm not entirely certain on that, but I thought I remember seeing benchmarks supporting that theory.

Anyway, I remember having a total pain with my Radeon 6670 in my other computer. The problem was that it wasn't firmly secured into the socket. Try to see if it feels looser than the GT 240 did or not. If it feels looser, then it could just simply be that.

GUYS!! he said he plugged the monitor through the motherboard...he's using the IGP if there's one...you HAVE to connect the monitor to the graphics card in order to get a signal from it...if your monitor does not have the correct connection type you may need an adapter...something like this :

DVI_to_VGA_Adapter_1.jpg

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |
| GPU: MSI RTX 3080Ti Ventus 3X OC  RAM: 32GB T-Force Delta RGB 3066mhz |
| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 3 VR

What I said was that it did not work plugged into the Graphics Card but it did work plugged into the Motherboard.

I am sure the Graphics card works since it works fine on my father's computer.

Make sure the card is firmly in place in the slot, and the PCI-E power connector (if there is one) is seated nicely as well.
