hi all, been a while for me,

ok so in my case i have an in build sd card reader which is dandy, and yesterday it worked fine to get my pictures off my SD card, but today, the card ready isn't even there, its not in device management or anything, i looked around online and this thing told me to go to device management, click on the device with the yellow triangle and uninstall it. so i did that, then it told me to scan for hardware changes, so i did that, but nothing came up, i went to show hidden devices and there is, " usb mass storage device" but greyed out and i cant install any drives for it. help.

Chuck it. Just use a USB to SD Card reader, this way it only takes up one drive letter that's free and won't hog your drive letters for life and conflict with some other drive in the future.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

Unless its soldered on then you can remove it. If you truly love it then leave it on but then you'll have to deal with the drive letter issue. You can change the drive letters for the Card Reader to be at the high end (Z, Y, X, W, ...) instead of the low end (E, F, G, H, ...) by opening up the Disk Management (Right click Computer select Manage) expand Storage, pick Disk Management. Pick the Card Reader drive letters and changed them to the high end, this will prevent any conflict with USB thumb drives or external hard drives you may use or even when you add a new drive.

Of course make sure the Card Reader is properly plugged into the internal USB pin outs on the motherboard
