Building a new system for my husband. Need some help.

Eijeigami

Budget (including currency): AUD $3000-$3500

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: The system is to be used for gaming -
Some upcoming and currently released titles
-Hogwarts Legacy
-Diablo 4
-Genshin Impact
-RE4 Remake
-League of Legends

Other details

Monitor  - ACER VG270 - Also have a second monitor, which is used mostly as a graphics tablet and display. (XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro 2.5K Resolution

Already have peripherals (keyboard, mouse, speakers) I was also intending to move some of the existing storage from his current system to the new one.

He has picked the case - The Hyte Y60. was originally going to go with the Lian Li Dynamic O11. This was my preference, but he really likes the Hyte Y60.

I've also gone Intel/Nvidia due to the availability and cost of Intel and NVidia being a bit better in Australia at the moment. (He really likes the graphics card we have too)

Budget - Aiming for AUD $3000, currently slightly over.
In Australia - part availability is the main reason for the parts I've picked.

Upgrading due to the old system not being entirely compatible with new parts. Was going to upgrade the ram, but the motherboard can't support much better than is there. Also, need a new GPU and a new PSU to support the new GPU. There are very limited options for upgrading and it seems rebuilding will be easier than trying to slowly upgrade existing parts.

Here is the parts list...
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/Eijeigami/saved/RhJV6h - I should note he is wanting some assignable ARGB
if anyone has any suggestions that would be fantastic! Thank you.

Oh, and if it's at all helpful, this is the system we are upgrading from https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/jkMLmr

Pro drives are WAY useless for gaming, and way too expensive.

Given the CPU, a 240 AIO is sufficient for good cooling. Consider using a 240 side mounted AIO. The AIO and an additional A-RGB fan for the rear exhaust should provide sufficient lighting. The bottom and top fans are not really visible so any lighting contributes little.

Instead of two 2x8GB memory kits consider a 2x16GB kit. The CPU will do quite well with DDR4-3200 CL16. There is a significant saving.

You definitely need to stay the hell away from the 3060 Ti, as 4 of the 6 big AAA releases this year hate 8GB cards. Namely Forspoken, Hogwarts Legacy, The Last of Us Part 1, and Resident Evil 4 Remake (with Dead Space and Callisto being alright on 8GB). I think that's enough to call it a trend now that games are being released that weren't designed with the last gen consoles in mind anymore. Frankly I'd stay away from the 4070 Ti and its 12GB too in that price class and would much rather go 7900 XT. I have also heard Diablo 4 is supposed to run through VRAM too.

Not true at all. For instance I see the far superior RX 6700 XT as low as $579 on au.pcpartpicker.com while you picked out a $639 3060 Ti. Don't be a sucker, Nvidia crapped all over PC gamers by gimping their cards with 8GB so people who bought them would have to upgrade again quicker. Even the 10GB on the RTX 3080 was ridiculous for the price.

I don't understand brand allegiance to Nvidia at all right now. It made sense in say 2015 when their DirectX 11 drivers had way less overhead than AMD's DX11 drivers so that their cards performed better when you were cpu bound and especially when you were using a low end cpu. But now that has been flipped too and these days AMD's DirectX 12 driver overhead is a lot lower than Nvidia's leading AMD to perform better when cpu bound. Not trying to sing the praises of AMD or anything, they're an evil corporation just like Nvidia is, but with the current product lines they're way better value than Nvidia.

Look how gross the 3060 Ti performance is here in Hogwarts at 1440p

Hi... I would just like to say that Storage and Case Fans are really expensive in Australia. I fully re-worked your build so that you can do all that you intend to do with this PC, you will have 0 problems playing any game you want and can stream/record at the same time also. I hope you like it and if you have any questions please let me know.

Thank you so much for The helpful suggestions, guys! I'm going to look through what you have all suggested and make some changes.

Seems the drive was a point of contention 🤣. I will make changes there for sure since everyone is saying it's not good for gaming. I haven't actually bought it, I just had access to some Samsung discounts I was planning to use to buy it.

It's not that it's not good for gaming, it's that it has ZERO benefit over other cheaper drives due to the files used for gaming and general use.  PRO drives benefit from massive single files where its prolonged speeds can really work.  Game files are too small and numerous, too much stop and go that doesn't suit a PRO or even an expensive NVMe drive.

Don't get hooked on the speed rating from SSD's.  There's a reason my previous system STILL has SATA drives in it.
