Hi, so i need help with a budget friendly wifi  setup for my place. The house is long and I have a google nest hub hooked up to my gateway. The hub works as an extender and since the home is old the access point are near each other and i get little to no signal in the back. I want a wired system since they are tearing some walls down and attic is easy to work with. I am hopping for a setup less than $200 hopefully and i think i will need 3 maybe 4 nodes house is 80 ft long.

I mounted a couple access points in the ceiling at opposite ends of my house recently. I used electrical boxes in the ceiling. While not necessary, I chose this route so I could easily just swap them later as I wanted. The access point mounts just mount to the box, so they can always be upgraded / swapped later:

A couple Ubiquiti U6-Lite access points, and POE injectors would be right around the $200 (just over). Whatever you choose, I would plan ahead a bit, and make sure you are able to upgrade swap things out without too much headache later. Especially as wireless technology changes pretty frequently.

OP might even be able to find a small 5-6 port POE switch to simplify the POE side a bit.

Yeah, I just recently got rid of the POE injectors and swapped in a switch. However the injectors many times are cheaper, and easier for people that just want to use "existing" equipment. So I mentioned them so the OP knew they were an option.

For me, my best option that I could think is 3xTP-Link Archer C80. In my country I bought them for $50 each one and with a firmware update they now support EasyMesh which is part of the Wi-Fi alliance, with ethernet backhaul support too. Deployment was easy, setup your main router, setup the other routers as satellites and add them in the main router web interface. So far Ive not experienced any problems and after setting the appopiate channels for both 2.4GHz and 5Ghz, I can even get signal from a couple of houses away through concrete walls on 5Ghz which I think its kinda nuts. Total budget was $150 and I think you can get 3xTP-Link Decos too for the same price which they also support 802.11r (Archer C80 only support 802.11k/v but I havent experienced any problem). Needless to say that I could reuse those C80 routers if I change my mesh networks for something better (maybe when 6E prices gets cheaper).
