That thing works fine with regular batteries. It had duracell non rechargables when i bought it, and i've been using regular ones for 4 years.

 

if i was in US i would get the g502s, but they cost double the price here.. 

 

haha, magic i will just throw it away and get a new mouse.

Is it possible that you accidentally inserted the new batteries backwards?

could be because its a third quality product? and it just gave up due to rough handling or overheated due to low quality component, you havent posted anything about the model there. so thats my guess.

the leakage was only on the battery, it didnt spill down.

but damn. had some mouse for more than 8 years and the mouse which came with my compaq pentium 3 (with the ball) and it's still working .
