Flow Meter Grief

Go to solution Solved by TangOz,

Problem Solved! Kinda...

So I connected the display from my DCB-FM01 and was able to use the frequency adapter cable for the tach lead which is getting a signal through to the fan controller at last.

Guess in the end I just got a dodgy product.

So I've been using a Koolance flow meter (INS-FM18) and was originally reading it on a separate display (DCB-FM01) and it was all good.

I decided to clean up my front panel and bought a Lamptron CW611 controller.  The controller works fine for fans and pump but I can't get it to display the flow rate.  I am using a frequency adapter (ADT-FM03) between the flow meter and the controller channel but it seems like there's no signal getting through.

Tomorrow I'll try connecting it to a motherboard header but for now my case is closed and I'm going to bed.

Please let me know if anyone has had experience with these parts or has another idea for what to do next...

If the flow was fine at first, odds are you won't have any issues with it later on.

If there was flow problems it would of been noticeable right away, so you may be better off just not using it.

(I know it's not what you asked, and you spent money on it. But that may be a better option)

Another option:   Make a custom bracket for it and mount the flow meter inside your case?

So I tried to connect the flow controller (through the frequency adapter) to a motherboard fan header and this also didn't seem to detect a signal.

Just wrote to Koolance support so I guess I'll wait and see what they say.  Such a pain cause I really want to see what my new D5 pump is putting out.
