Hello !!

Currently I have this lexar (2.0 8gb) usb stick exclusively for Flashback/QFlash- Plus and works fine, as I have done 3 updates with this method.

The thing is that usb is 15 years old and I don't know how many years left. The last 5-10 years I didn't use it much but in the past I've done many full formats.

I found this stick that seems good and it's made in Japan if that matters !!

Will it gonna work with Flashback or just I will waste my money ?? I know this bios update method is very picky about usb sticks.

PS. If I eventually buy the kioxia can I reflash the same bios version just to know if it works or no ?? Cause I have already the latest stable version. My mobo is a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite V2 rev. 1.0

Your Lexar 2.0 8gb usb stick will work fine for BIOS updates.  Speed doesn't matter.  If its detected in windows and you can move files to it and its fat32, it will work without any problems. Doesn't matter if its 15 years or 1 year old, if it works it works.

Thanks for the answer !!

As I said in first post, I have already tested the lexar 3 times with QFlash-Plus and works all 3 times.

I'm just worried about the lifespan of this usb stick. It can be last another 15 years, but don't know for sure.

That's why I wanted to buy a new one.

I recommend a Sandisk Ultra Fit, handy format

I have 2 SanDisk Ultra (non Fit) and on the front panel usbs don't fit stiff enough and windows doesn't recognize them most of the times unless I move it a little with my finger.

At the back of the motherboard they fit well but I don't want to risk it.
