Hi. Just wanted to ask your opinion on which of these two board is better?
• MPG Z790 EDGE WIFI
• Z790 AERO G (rev. 1.0)

They are at the same price range, planning to buy for my Intel i7 13700K build.

And in terms of Software, which is better?

Unless there is some feature these boards have a feature that you need and cheaper board don’t have that feature, you should look at cheaper boards.

 

Spending more money on the motherboard only gets you more features which is only worth it if you need the features. If you plan on overclocking, then it’s a different story kinda. But these days overclocking has become rather pointless.

Thank you. What would recommend? Right now I am using Asus ROG Code, I am just looking for something that would allow me to change clockspeed easily, right now I can do that using ROG AI Suite, I don't OC much as long as I am contented with the performance.

I don't really think OC tweaking, especially if you don't do it much, is worth it. Modern CPUs OC well enough on their own that you don't really gain a whole lot.

I'd avoid MSI motherboards as their support is horrendous.

Both MSI and Gigabyte have terrible in OS software utilities, though I'd also probably say that about AI Suite (if you want to do in OS tuning on an ROG board, use Turbo VCore). XTU exists though, so if you just want to change clocks in Windows use that rather than trying to use MSI's or Gigabyte's software. Technically there are the XOC versions of their software that you can find on some forum pages, MSI has Dragon Power which is pretty reliable (though I've had it break on me more times than I can count), and Gigabyte has GTL XP edition which is also pretty good, but they're also designed for the XOC boards and might not work with other SKUs lower down in the product stack. 

 

It just comes down to what you need the motherboard to do. Both will do just fine, the differences are mostly in personal preference. I'd personally be going for the Gigabyte board out of those two because I prefer their BIOS layout, but that's about it.

I’m personally getting the aero g . Because it has front panel header for usbgen 2x2 and a thunderbolt header for add on cards for later upgrades
