so for my first build after using an x box for 12+ years ,\

 

im getting a 

ryzen 5 5600x +an asrock b550pro 4  for around 250 bucks

but im getting an i5 12400f + gigabyte z690 ud for 340 bucks 

 

for the ryzen build my only upgrade down the line is the 5800x3d

 

but for the intel my upgrade path goes on till the 13600k 

 

im going to be using an rtx 3070 

 

and is the 13600k way better than the 5800x3d such that the it justifies the cost for going inte;...

 

also which amd motherboard allows overclocking .....

 

is the rx6750 comparable to the rtx 3070...

 

sry for the questions lmaoo, console to pc is pretty daunting lmao, dont want to screw it up ...

Depends on the scenario. In multicore performance the 13600K wins pretty much all around, though in gaming while the 13600K does still tend to win more than it loses, it depends on the specific game more than anything.

Technically every B- and X- series board support overclocking. That said, AMD CPUs don't make sense to overclock, you just want to enable PBO and be done with it. There are some factors to mess with to help tune PBO, but they aren't gonna get you a noticeable performance improvement. Plus, the 5800X3D has locked down overclocking support, so you can't overclock that chip anyway. If you want to overclock, you go Intel.

It's a little worse and has much worse RT performance, but they are the Nvidia and AMD equivalents of each other.

Depends on the specific motherboard. The B450 chipset doesn't really affect all that much, but there are some truly awful B450 boards out there that I wouldn't want to use a 5800X3D on. There aren't many, odds are whatever you find should be OK, but the chipset alone really doesn't determine all that much when it comes to the motherboard's qualities.

In theory yes, b450 is ok with a 5600x but keep in mind B450 chipset means there's no pci-e 4.0 slots and a video card like RX 6600 or higher would benefit a tiny bit from 4.0 slots .

13600k may be a bit better, but keep in mind most benchmarks and reviews use DDR5 memory, and often not the cheap ddr5 kind you would buy, so your performance would be a bit lower due to using ddr4.

 

A board like Gigabyte z690 ud is fine, but you're still paying more for a cpu that's less powerful than 5600x 

 

You could have a look at some combo deal, some AMD 7600 or 7700 with motherboard and RAM on discount or something like that.

im not that keen to go for am5 cause the ddr5 and am5 motherboards are really expensive atm...but for now which would u recooment i go with 

the 5600x + b550  with an upgrade to 5800x3d in like a couple of years

of the 12400f +z690 and upgrade to 13th gen in a couple of yeards

the amd option is  65 bucks cheaper tho...

 

also any recocomendations for sites where i can buy parts other than microcenter which i have been using till now

b550 need update bios for 5600/5600x

pick up some mobo with feature "bios flashback" have you chosen

 

b450 last version will be fine
