This occurred recently (beginning of March) and before that my computer was working after I built it in mid-Jan. When exiting games such as F1 2022 and FFXIV (both are direct x11 games?) or even alt tabbing, the screen would go black and the fan will go really loud but the PC would not turn off. It would just be a black screen. I waited for a while but it would not come back. The only way to fix it is to turn off the PC and unplug the power. I need to wait for around 5 minute and then I can reboot the PC again. If I do it immediately after, the PC would POST (no error on the POST light on the motherboard) and the screen would still be black. I tried using updating the driver but it didn't help and I also went back to older drivers and the problem still occurs.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this and if is it because of a faulty gpu. Thanks!

I’ve had this issue before on a previous machine, the fix I came up with for my case was changing from “full screen” to “windowed full screen”, hopefully your issue is equally simple.
