2k display

what will happen if i 2k (4k) 144hz display put on this i5 4690k 4.4ghz gtx 1070 ti. how will perform in games. will i lost like 50fps ( fhd 60hz now i play scum high medium settings 90 fps) ?

Having a 144hz panel does not mean you HAVE to play every game at this kind of refresh rate some benefit more than other such as competitive first person shooters as high action most of the time.

 

That said high refresh rates can be achieved with a 1070 on 1440p, as long as you play with the settings properly, I would mainly recommend turning off most anti-aliasing as games will benefit less from it at higher resolutions anyway.

ofc furn off all shit setttings don't need etc .

i not aiming on a 144 fps all time 60-100 fps it's ok for me.but can my cpu and gpu handle 2k +100hz display

A 1070 will do a lot of games justice at 1440, but a good number of AAA games will require setting adjustments.

That said, might be a good idea to ignore “Max” and start bigger titles off on “High”. I don't know anything about SCUM or how hard it is to run however.

 

I can't even hit 144 fps (on some games) with my 3070 Ti FTW3 on water in a custom loop.

 

Graphical settings and resolution determine what fps you get. I've ran 1070 Ti on warzone with around 100 fps on my first 2k panel. Shadows are a real killer in almost every game. Maybe medium on those. You won't always be able to play on max settings for 60fps+, but you'll get close to it. You have to give up 1 or 2 graphical settings and lower them.

If you unhappy with quality of game graphics, drop res to 1080p and turn them up one by one to hit your fps target, which should be 60+.

Well yeah I don't play warzone anymore. I did enjoy it with friends.

 

I know well enough a can't play at 4k with the settings I play my games at. I want the max or at least high with ray tracing. I'm looking to go  ultra wide right now. Not 4k just IPS & HDR. Preparing for Resident Evil 4 Remake.

 

The only way I can match the refresh rate of my panel or near consistently is setting frame rate in the NVIDIA control panel (which you can also try) like my current panel is 144hz.meaning FPS set to 140. Then I hit it constantly on most of my games.

Your CPU won't go to 100% but GPU will. The benchmark should be in same setting but different resolution only.

No impact, instead you will always getting smooth gaming experience as long as your fps is not over 144fps.
