Hey, i just bought a second hand GPU, and it died while gaming. When starting up, it kinda smells burned and I don't get a video output.

I just opend it up and found some stains inside with a lot of dust i guess. Can someone help me find the issue so i can use it again.

Further information on the GPU:

Gigabyte Vision 3080 TI

Looking at this burnt in mark on the thermo tape there is a good chance that one of the power stages is a goner. Probably that's where the burning smell comes from.

Whether this is fixable or not.. well... it's only a matter of luck. But if you didn't have luck scoring a good GPU in a first place, i wouldn't count on it. That's the risk of getting an ex-miner GPU. The money you spend should be no more than what you can afford to basically throw in the toilet.

Edit:

Took a 2nd look at the pictures and it almost looks like a heat pipe broke on that one and they simply power washed it and changed the cooler. Either that or this GPU was mining somewhere where they cooked 24/7.
