Edit: I was able to update it and now it keeps flashing like in the video but the other symbols are gone.

Have you brought int into an Apple Store? Sure they’ll just tell you “you need a new machine” it is a sales place after all, they tell that to almost everyone, but they might also tell you why

If those signs of power and usb are actually on the screen and the screen is flickering like that then check the reply on the same topic on the apple forum below
