Strange USB behavior

At random intervals, all my USB ports on my pc just stop working, all my peripherals just stop working and i have to force a restart to get them working again. I'm on windows 11, 12th gen intel system. Is this a driver issue or something more insidious, any suggestions would be great. 

 

NOTE: this started happening suddenly, the pc is around 8 months old now and the issue only started the past week.
