Realtek audio issue(s)?

I downloaded the Realtek  Audio Codec/controller driver from the website and it is not working. It downloaded because I see it in the add or remove settings, but the HD Audio device does not show up in my device manager. Which means I get no audio when I plug in my headphones. Any suggestions?
