Xbox 360 slim issues

Will a bad front power button cause an auto shut off basically when you start the unit cuz soon as you started it shuts right off or I'm thinking about power supply because I don't really use the machine that often but I'm thinking my son f***** up the power button

Nope, that button wouldnt work if it was broken.

I mean the unit won't turn on for like 1 second and instantly shut off I'm just thinking if it's a bad touch sensor it probably keep thinking to turn itself off

that can happen with any atx spec machine that has a grounding problem , aka it can be more than just the power button.

the unit doesnt look like it's in good condition so anything could be wrong with it

might have bounce???, i took the unit apart there was a fan screw inside but ordered a replacement bezel

i took off the front bezel so that what is only in the  picture the rest of the unit seems fine

Touch inputs always trigger that beep noise, if it beeps as soon as you turn it on maybe that might be the case.

the sensor has deep scratches on it so could be a short

ok well seeing as taking off the front bezel and staring at the outside of the unit isn't much of a diagnostic step , that would determine very little regarding its functionality

Slim has a touch power sensor.

i mean i tried googling the answer as the first step might start using the GPT but then google mentioned bad PSU

ok well seeing as taking off the front bezel and staring at the outside of the unit isn't much of a diagnostic step , that would determine very little regarding its functionality

super glue will keep the button in place its molded to the bezel orginally

Not likely as there is nothing to short there. This is what is behind that "button".

A bad PSU is more likely than a "short due to deep scratch" on the touch power button

idk whats wrong with the unit, i could get an adapter for the Phat 360 PSU as i know that one works

even the board seems fine, my kid told me to hold the power button and im like WTF that shouldnt be the case

no thats not how the unit supposed to work, or any power button, a quick touch or press is all it supposed to have, even a pc you hold it it will shut down

ok so holding down the power button does not turn the machine on at all correct?

Turned out to be the PSU failed had to Frankenstein the wires to the fat Xbox 360 power supply just to test
