Hi guys, my friend helped me build my first PC last year, but I'm wanting to upgrade it so that it's suitable for 4K gaming, and he suggested that I post here so that I can get some options and advice. All my details are listed above, and would ideally be starting off upgrading my motherboard, CPU and GPU. I would like to have a motherboard that would handle and be suitable for future upgrades, and for a better CPU to preferably be Ryzen (maybe Ryzen 7?). Budget is in NZD not USD, hence why up to 2500. If anyone could recommend any specs, that would be great. With regards to Monitor, ideally curved and 4K, only need one at the moment (need advice on this, even my mate doesn't have the expansive knowledge). I know these are typically low ended games and 4K would be pretty pointless, but I do like having shaders/raytracing on with Minecraft, so there's that, plus 4K just tends to be so much more visually, as opposed to 1080p.

Well im gonna be honest, you dont need to upgrade much at all. 4 things, with 1 potentialk

Update the bios one your motherboard, then you can buy a 5800x3D. That will be the best on that platform and you really dont need more than that unless you are going for a 4090.

Cooler: You will want a 280mm AIO or beefy air cooler.

Ram, you will want to upgrade to 32 GB for 4k Gaming. Stick to 3200-3600mhz and tight timings, whichever is available in NZ.

GPU, this is gonna be the expensive part, for 4k Gaming, you will want a VERY high end  GPU. This is why 4k Gaming tends to be a very dumb idea as in order to get it to run really well, you do need a high end system and for most people i cant justify having them spend that much. Whats pricing like over where you are going to buy

PSU: This will probably have to get upgrade if you go above a 4070ti, 850W.

Let me just say that parts in your country are really expensive. I was able to make a list for you but it does not include a monitor. You will have to save more for that. That being said I gave you a clear upgrade path when new parts become available. I picked a GPU that will do 4K. I had to upgrade your PSU to accommodate the newer parts and wattage. I threw in a small M.2 drive for the Operating System. And the case I picked has lots of Airflow which is key to and PC that you don't want to heat up and fry so the one I picked is really great and comes with 3 fans already installed for even more Airflow. If you have any questions please ask.

bro he doesn't need a whole new system just a upgrade.......

other than that this is my take on the upgrade-

https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/2R7TLs

it has a good curve 1440p display because pcpartpicker said that there were no good 4K gaming monitors in new Zeeland and the CPU is decent upgrade while the GPU is a massive upgrade so your gaming should be a breeze
