Bad RAM cause

Yea, I tried that, but didn't make a photo of it. It was basically the same errors.

The question was, could my hardware cause this problem, could it be the virus I had back in November?

Ok good, then just get a new ram kit. You can upgrade to 2x16 instead of 2x8gb. No if you wiped everything, you should be good.

Hi,

so, last year, June, I bought myself all the pieces for a brand new gaming rig:

Case: NZXT H710i

MB: MSI Tomahawk x570 wifi

CPU: Ryzen 5900x

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X73

GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080 Asus ROG Strix

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x8GB 3600MHZ CL16 (16-19-19-39)

SSD: 2xSamsung Evo 980 Pro

PSU: Corsair HX850

Now, the following problem occured: In Novemeber my wife managed to get a virus from some weird anime website, I got, at that time, a lot of weird blue screens and decided to wipe my entire pc and reinstall it anew. Everything worked fine until yesterday, when out of the blue, I got again BSOD with error code "BAD_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT". I decided to run the windows diagnostics tool which found no errors at all. I tuned my RAM to run at 2333MHZ to be able to get memtest on a usb. I set the RAM back to 3600MHZ and started a memtest86.

During the memtest86 i got the following results: See ram_error.jpg

Ok, now, I bought new RAM, but, was wondering if the errors attached can be because of the malware I got in November, or it is because of another hardware component and how could I test this in order to avoid these kind of problems in the future.

Another question I got, what could I optimze for my build to not bottleneck anything.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Try setting everything to auto in BIOS. (optimized defaults). Then ram should be at stock speeds, 2133mhz and then you can run memtest. If you still get errors, you got a bad memory stick, if not, maybe the xmp /docp profile isn't working as intended, and over time, that would cause BSODs.

so, If i get new ram kit and if I receive the BSOD again, it might be something wrong with my hardware...Any idea how I could pinpoint the cause fi this?

I'm sure it's ram related, if not, then it could be anything really. Then I would start with wiping windows and reinstall. If you get different BSODs, check event viewer for example

so, after some more documentation, i found out that msi tomahawk x570 wifi supports the the memory i have, but with a specific model, that is F4-3600C16D-16GTZN. I noticed that my ram sticks are the model F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC (with a C at the end). I'm not entirely sure, but, can this lead to any sort of BSOD?

The diference i noticed between the two models, are the timings, mine is 16-19-19-39 whilst the one supported is 16-16-16-36

Not if you have tested them out at auto speeds, aka 2133mhz and not with the xmp profile
