Just a note before hand: I am maybe just a little more advanced than a beginner with computers

i recently purchase a prebuilt PC ‪(Specs Below)‬ and it came installed with windows 11. So far for the past week it has been freezing/crashing every hour while I’m trying to download my games from steam. I figured it was a windows 11 issue so I switched to windows 10 where I have had the fewest issues. The issue is still occurring.

Anyone got any advice on what I can try, I am open to all suggestions!!

Thanks in advance!!image.thumb.jpg.94de1fb7090068c641b20c09f60c7e77.jpg

I do want to point out that Windows 10 can sometimes have issues with 13th gen if you leave the E cores on, so you're probably gonna be better off moving back to Windows 11 if you need the multithreaded performance. If not and you're willing to just disable them or you don't use an application that gets screwed over by the E cores, ignore this.

Anyway, no matter what I'd be reaching out to whoever you bought the prebuilt from and ask what they want you to do. Usually crashing like this that persists after a clean Windows install is some sort of hardware issue, and warranties exist for this exact reason. It might be something as simple as the RAM mounting pressure is ever so slightly too little/too much and that's causing the instability, or it might be a faulty motherboard. Either way, it's the manufacturer's problem and realistically they should just exchange it for a different one.

Agree with everything @RONOTHAN##has said. If an out of the box computer has crashing issues, wouldn't it have been best to contact the manufacturer first?

I would try reseating the RAM as my first option and then contacting the manufacturer.

I will reach out to IBUYPOWER tomorrow then and see what they want to do.

As for the multithreaded performance, the only thing I can think of that would even utilize that is escape from tarkov but I can check it to only use physical cores which I’m not too worried about.

Would you happen to know what a decent overclock would be if I were to install more ram for 64gb ‪(4x16)‬?

I will give that a try this evening and if the issues persist then I’ll call the manufacturer tomorrow.

Definitely try that as I'm thinking possibly something came loose during shipping & handling.

I could see that. I paid for the padding stuff for shipping but when it came out of the box it was not in the computer. 🤷

That's pretty concerning that it was not installed.

Back to your reply: some mild google searching and contacting of more tech oriented friends, e-cores are good but I won’t really need them for gaming as they won’t provide a massive difference with games I play.

Thank you for the response and help!!!
