Virtualbox is so slow

Go to solution Solved by Haswellx86,

@f23948virtualbox is indeed slow, and has very high latency. Try switching to VMware, it also has a free version as well.

Please I would like to know why virtualbox is so slow while using Linux mint in virtualbox

My specs

i7 1255U

16 GB ram

512 gb nvme ssd

Dell inspiron 14 2 in 1

Windows 11 Pro 22H2 with latest Windows updates and latest drivers installed

No other apps running

I did dust off of my CPU but no avail

Firstly, you're not wrong. VirtualBox is a slow, but you can make is usable for non-3D tasks by installing the Guest Additions pack for your VMs OS, increasing the graphics video memory to the max, adding enough memory to your VM, and of course, installing your VM on an SSD.

anything made by oracle is slow I would reccommend going for window hyper-v which is pretty good and you can import your virtual box linux mint vm. I personally use hyper-v and it is very smooth make sure you give it a fair amount of memeorey and cpu cores
