Laptop RAM Upgrade

Hi all, 

I want to upgrade ram in my asus vivobook 15 x509ja and would like to confirm something that I already suspect the answer to.

According to

Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM is compatible with the laptop, but it already has 2666 soldered ram on board.

 

I would assume the 3200 stick would only be running at 2666 and there is no need to buy a stick with higher frequency.

 

Can members of this forum confirm this, please 🤗
