So my 360 rad (phobya g changer v2) came with 12 short screws and 12 long ones. I used the short ones for the fans and they went all the way down, because the longer ones didn't. Am I meant to use the longer ones to mount it to the case? Sorry for the noob question, but I don't want to damage my rad.

Correct, use longer ones for mounting Radiator to the case and shorter ones for fans.

Hey fellow Queenslander!

What size are your screws?  I had some trouble mounting my fans and rads.  First thing I discovered:  It's a pain to try and sandwich fans between your radiator and case.  Second:  Don't trust that the screws that came with the rad will actually work for your application.

If you have thicker fans you may need longer screws.  Also, several of my pre drilled holes on the rad seemed to fit a larger width screw.

If your screws aren't working just head to a hardware fitting place and have them look at your rad.  You can chose the right size AND colour for what you need and it's really cheap (like <$5) for all the screws you could dream of.

Don't forget a screw that's to long can be cut down pretty easily with just a hacksaw.

All the best!

Typically "short" screws are for screwing your rad to the case when there is no intervening fan in between. This screw may only be a few mm long. The longer ones, are for screwing the rad to the case but for also going through the fan that you sandwich between. Typically these screws are 25mm long (thickness of standard fan) plus a few more.

In any case, when screwing the rad to the case, pay very careful attention to NOT screw in to deep so that the screw makes contact with the rad fins, or you could crack it and then you have a leak.
