Need help with new PC build

trisXP

Budget (including currency): £470, but I already have a Gigabyte 1660 Super.

Country: London, UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Celeste, Visual Studio code and video editing.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I already have a 1660 Super which I managed to get for only £200 brand new.

These are the parts I am thinking of getting, any suggestions would be appreciated! 😄

Concerns:

idk if the power supply is good.

Not sure if there are better motherboards, and it needs a BIOS update

If you have any suggestions please tell me!

Thanks, and have a great rest of your day 😄

i meant personally the case seems expensive for me.

but for PSU and MOBO can be better. Ds3h isnt bad but most of people go better since ur using ryzen 5. B550 works fine with ryzen 5. lot of choices for MOBO but since im not good at mobo i leave it for other people

PSU i can suggest Corsail CX.CXM or beQuite U12 or Seasonic Focus. lot of it right here PSU TIER LIST

You can optimize this a bit.  I think this has a pretty cool easthetic, but it's up to you.

  • 5600 is gonna be a good CPU for a while
  • Wifi / bluetooth version of the same motherboard for the same price (if you don't want wifi or bluetooth, this would also be a decent board: ASRock B550M Phantom Gaming 4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (B550M Phantom Gaming 4) - PCPartPicker)
  • Aftermarket cooler with 5 heat pipes to keep CPU at max boost, also has ring GB to match the fans on the case
  • Gen 4 Drive for $1 more
  • Much better PSU that would allow for moderate GPU upgrade later if you wanted, $6 more
  • This case is cheaper but it actually has great airflow and a really good internal design for a mATX case, as the area beneath the GPU is fully ventilated to allow for a wider intake area.  It includes all the fans you need as well.

You CAN do aesthetics at very low price points, you just have to shape it towards what's available.
