Right click on the yt video, go to settings then under one of the tabs there should be hardware acceleration, turn it off and see if that fixes it.

Can anyone explain to me why 4K content on youtube lags and glitches on my system? Specs are in the description- pretty high end. Happens both in Chrome and IE. Just to say my CPU usage is only approx 40% when playing 4K.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

 

Edit: Not an Internet issue - I have 60mb down 10 mb up

Maybe the lack of a 4k Screen to property display it? I know I have problems with 1080p on my 800p macbook pro.

mmmm, I thought about this , but people(including linus) often say that one of the advantages to 4k content is that it even looks better on a 1080p screen. And that wouldn't make sense if it wasn't playable.

Tried that earlier- no improvement

 

EDIT - Wait, I did a refresh and now it seems to be working fine! I guess that did it, thanks a million :)

Its most likely youtube, try using other browsers just to see and make sure you have a pretty good internet connection.

They've had it for a couple months -, check TLD or UnboxTherapy- they've got some 4K content
