Windows deactivated after new build

After I built my new PC I noticed Windows 11 wasn't activated, but I used the same ssd I had in my old rig. Are windows product keys assigned to a system, and not a microsoft account?

(Edit: Nvm Windows figured it out after a couple days)

That depends if the key is an OEM or Retail key.   OEM licenses cannot be installed on a different device becuase it is tied up with the motherboard. If you are using a Retail version of license , yes it is possible to install in a different device.

Windows keys can be linked to a Microsoft Account. However, you have to explicitly tell it you're transferring the license from another machine.
