I have got a usb with windows and I haven’t burnt it. I used the media tool, do I have to burn it?

Like using rufus and burning the usb

if its a clean USB drive with only the windows media tool you downloaded and extracted to the USB, that is the only thing you need to do to install windows.

First I thought he wanted to use a lighter to burn the USB to get rid of the evidence of a windows on his USB lol.

Yes.  If you did download the windows tool correctly, plug the USB in the back of your computer when its turned off and then turn it on and it should automatically start installign windows.

If you copied the ISO file to the USB drive, then you'd need to use Rufus. If you used the Windows Media Creation tool, then you can just start your computer and use the usb.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

windows media creation tool will do everything you need to make a bootable usb drive, simply open it and click the most relevant buttons for your goals.

 

please do not burn usb drives, the smoke from the plastic may cause cancer in the state of california if you burn it.

So I have booted it with the usb and it’s loading for a while now any ideas?
