Hello.

I recently made a couple changes to my home network and since then, I've been having weird behavior in online games. I have regular ping and no issues for several minutes but then suffer from momentary disconnects and ping spikes for 10-15 seconds before going back to normal. This is currently happening on my desktop PC.

So far this has happened to me in League of Legends and Apex legends.

The changes I made to my network is that I installed a raspberry pi with an ethernet cable and set it up as a DNS with Pi-Hole however I had to select the DNS address manually on each device since my ISP router does not allow me to change the DNS network wide.

The other change I made is that I hooked up a 5 port network switch for my xbox and nintendo switch, since I ran out of ethernet ports when I hooked up my raspi.

So right now my home network looks something like this:

ISP Router (Huawei HG8145V5)

--Network Switch

         ---Xbox Series S

         ---Nintendo Switch

--Raspberry pi

--Desktop PC 1

--Desktop PC 2

I had to disable IPV6 on both desktop PCs since it was causing my raspberry pi DNS to be bypassed since they were defaulting to using the IPV6 DNS from my ISP since they have locked me out from changing those settings on my router configuration.

I have several devices connected via WiFi but the same issues still happen even with most of them disconnected so I don't think that's the issue.}

Speed test does not show any reduction in latency or speed since I made those changes.

According to my research, pi-hole should not be the source of the issue since the DNS is only used once when establishing the connection to the game servers so I'm kinda lost. Any help is appreciated.

My system Specs:

Windows 10 Pro 19045 64 Bit
B660 GAMING X AX DDR4 (BIOS F21)
Intel i5-12600KF
32 GB 3200 MHz
Nvidia RTX 3060
Cooler Master MasterWatt 650W
