Budget (including currency):  3000 KM (1500 Euros)

Country:  Bosnia and Herzegovina

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: High-end games (1080p gaming is important) and front/backend software development

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

My current PC is a Intel XEON W3690 3.47 GHz, 16 GB DDR3 ram and a GTX 750 TI

I would like to finaly upgrade it after over 7 years.

I came up with the following configuration for now, could you point out any wrong choices?

My first plan was to get a AMD Ryzen 7 5700G because of the 8 cores, but i dont like how it only supports PCIe-3 and 3200MHz to RAM.

I would like it to be more or less future proof. I know that getting DDR4 RAM and motherboard goes against it, but it just blows the budget and i dont want to pay more. (Keep in mind that i am currently using a 7 year old build. If in 7 years my new build performs like my current build performs now i will be happy).

My total now is 1745 KM

I am not sure what graphics card to get. I would like to pay around 1000 KM (500 euros) for it. To me it seems like a 3060 is the best option, all the other options that i could find seem to be weaker, but i am not sure, i need help here. For instance ASUS VGA DUAL-RTX3060-O12G-V2.

Do i need some kind of aftermarket cooling for my CPU and GPU to perform to the max? I could fit the in the budget as long as the total does not exceed 3200KM (1600 euros)

I would not like to do overclocking for durability reasons.

I would hire a PC building service and ask them to recommend me a case and case fans.

You want to get 2x16GB ? Not needed for a gaming PC, you could save and get 2x8GB

Can't find the PSU on PSU TierList, seems dodgy, you could get a good 750W one from Corsair

3060 at 500EUR is a scam, you should look at prices of AMD RX6600XT/6650XT they're faster and usually way cheaper (a 6650XT is 350EUR in France, 3060s are 400EUR, and 6650XT is 15% faster...)

Intel stock cooler is kinda crappy but it works on a 12400, see if you can spare 30EUR for a better one

You could get one of these cards, its more or less 3070 performance if your not worried about raytracing

https://www.amd.com/en/direct-buy/5618082100/us

Ryzen 5800X3D(Because who doesn't like a phat stack of cache?) GPU - 7700Xt

                                                           X470 Strix f gaming, 32GB Corsair vengeance, WD Blue 500GB NVME-WD Blue2TB HDD, 700watts EVGA Br

~Extra L3 cache is exciting, every time you load up a new game or program you never know what your going to get, will it perform like a 5700x or are we beating the 14900k today? 😅~

I don't know what site you are using but I built this for 1427.96 Euros

  1. i5 13400f (10 core cpu) - 219.68 Euros
  2. Deepcool AK500 White - 70.43 Euros
  3. Teamgroup DDR4 Delta White 2x8 3200Mhz - 60.95 Euros
  4. Asrock B760M Pro - 133.64 Euros
  5. Corsair RM 750 WHT (2021) - 100.49 Euros
  6. Fractal Design Pop Air (White) - 114.74 Euros
  7. MSI RTX 3070 ti Gaming X Trio - 728.03 Euros

The build is mostly white coloured parts but that is because they were sometimes cheaper (like the mobo and the psu). If you don't like this colour scheme its fine do whatever you want with it. If you are adamant about it being 1500 Euros you could go for a better psu like a Be Quiet Straight Power 11 1000W or 850W 80 Plus Platinum for 189.94 and 154.12 making the build go up to either 1517.41 or 1486.87. This will ensure more watts giving you the future proofing that you want as well as better cerftification (80 Plus Platinum ocmpared to Gold)

This will be good for 1080p, 1440p and even some 4K gaming.

Hope I helped!!

Maybe not for gaming, but for my software development 16GB just barely cuts it and i am sick of it.

I read that they are a OK even if a bit obscure. I can check if i can find another one. btw. isnt it better to have a bit of "head room" with the wattage, maybe for future upgrades? I bought my current PSU 7 years ago and it still works, so maybe this new one will still work when i decide to upgrade again in a few years.

Scam or not, those are the prices in my country. A MSI Video Card AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT GAMING X 8G is 650 euros

Computer parts are just way more expensive in my country. I can try and find the parts you recommend, but i doubt it will be within my budget.

Yeah I get that. I searched up locally because I didn't know what site you were using. If you want you can send me some links of stores in your country and see if I can find anything there

The sites i was looking at are:

https://genelec.ba/pc-komponentec-14

https://imtec.ba (Proizvodi -> PC komponente i Software)

https://pcmarket.ba/komponente-i-periferija/

The motherboard found here https://www.olx.ba/artikal/50787632/msi-pro-b660m-a/ (its a eBay type of thing)

I could get cheaper stuff trying to find it on https://www.olx.ba but im scared of getting used products labeled as new

btw. apparently a RX 6600 XT would be better than a 3060 12GB. I found one here but its a Biostar. Are Biostar cards any good?

I'll look into it tomorrow. I haven't heard a lot of people use Biostar gpus though I will try to find some reviews!

I already saw a review. It says that its extremly loud, even without a lot of load. And a lot of people advise to stay away from them.

But i guess i will just go with the configuration i listed, i dont think i will find anything better for the money, i will just have to shop around a bit more to see if i can find a better alternative for the 3060. And maybe find another psu because PDifolco said mine could be dodgy

Yeah don't go with it. I saw a review of another biostar gpu that isn't that good. They are loud and hot (as you already mentioned). I would go with a different psu too, so good thinking. If it makes you feel better I have the same configuration and it runs everything 1080p high/ultra so you will be pleased with it. Just sucks that the gpu is overpriced. If anyhting else changes tell me. I'm looking at the sites you gave me right now.

Hey hey I found something:

i5 13400f 565.95 km https://pcmarket.ba/shop/cpu/intel-core-i5-13400f-2-5ghz/

Gigabyte B760M G X AX 418.95 km https://pcmarket.ba/shop/mb/gigabyte-mb-b760m-g-x-ax-ddr4/

Kingston 16GB 3200MHz 128.95 https://pcmarket.ba/shop/memorije/kingston-16gb-3200mhz-ddr4-rgb-3/

Corsair RM750x 80 Plus 375.95 km https://pcmarket.ba/shop/napajanja/corsair-rm750x-80-gold-ful-m/

Endorfy Regnum 400 ARGB 261.95 https://pcmarket.ba/shop/kucista/endorfy-regnum-400-argb/

Gigabyte 6650 xt 972.95 km https://pcmarket.ba/shop/vga/gv-r665xtgaming-oc-8gd/

Total comes to 2724.7 km.

I prefer air coolers and I couldn't find anything decent for the cpu that is an air cooler. I was drawn to the be quiet dark rock 4 but the site says that it doesn't support lga 1700. You can search for water coolers though! Also I haven't heard of Endorfy but it seems like a decent case. Just watch out because the mobo is micro atx and the case looks like it can fit up to atx motherboards!

Thanks, i will take a look. The question is just how reputable the site is. Imtek and genelec are brick-and-mortar stores where i can walk in and get the components, while pcmarket is only a web shop. But i will try and find some reviews to figure out the situation.

Thank you for taking the time to help me.
