So both Chrome and Firefox freeze up and are not responding every now and then. I can't pin down where the issue orgininates from it's just from loading a page and then it gets stuck for ~20 seconds or more and also freezes everything else. It must be something in the browser because it never freezes up on anything else like games for example. I thought it was flash player but I have no idea how to check youtube etc. works fine (if that still uses the plugin).

This did start when I got a new FX8320 btw, but I feel like it's kind of unrelated and I also can't be a hundred percent sure.

try updating flash/java/adobe air/shockwave or completly uninstalling & reinstalling them all and the browsers (remeber to backup bookmarks and passwords)

before hand : in firefox go to help>restart with addons disabled and try browsing if that dont work do the same thing again but this time give "reset firefox option" and try again.

keep posting back until problem clears up & try cleaning your registry before reinstalling anything

Okay so now Chrome just said it was not responding but Firefox pops up a message with "Shockwave Flash is not responding... etc" I installed everything Tech_Dreamer said already but it still does it.

I've had it overclocked yes but was not stable at the time, I didn't even actively use it.
