I've read and then watched a variety of Linus' and Jayztwocents videos on water cooling I'm kind baffled that Jayztwocents made a ~$800 water cooling video and my parts only come to around $550. What am I missing or need more of?

I have the following components in mind:

XSPC RX360 Triple Fan Radiator V3 Black

XSPC D5 Photon 270 Reservoir/Pump Combo
XSPC RayStorm CPU Waterblock Copper Edition
XSPC D5 Aluminium Screw Ring Black (is this even needed or is it a replacement part?)
XSPC FLX Tubing Clear UV 3/8ID 5/8OD 4m
XSPC G1/4 Chrome 3/8in ID 5/8in OD Compression Fitting (x 20)
XSPC EC6 Liquid Cooling Coolant UV Blue

Already bought 3 NF-F12's.

Really like the aesthetic and simplicity of the pump/res combo so that's why I'm mainly going with XSPC. At least with my first WC build I'd rather stick to fewer manufacturers.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah only 1 rad? I would defiantly get more, and also XSPC is kinda meh IMO thats why its cheap,

Want to minimise the complexity of the parts as much as possible without making it more difficult to fit and build. Also have the choice of going a mostly Alphacool/Bitspower build but I'm unsure if these parts would be compatible.

What about:

CPU block: Alphacool NexXxoS XP3 Light - Black Chrome Edition
Rad: Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper 360mm
Pump: Alphacool VPP655 Single Edition 12V Variable Speed Pump
Tubes: Alphacool AlphaTube UV Transparent Blue 3/8ID 1/2OD 3m
Res: Alphacool Cape Fuzion Core 30 Acetal Black
Fittings: Alphacool 13/10 Compression Fitting G1/4 Chrome (x 20)

Is it wise to invest in a D5 Mod upgrade kit?

thanks

XSPC is meh? Their radiators are top of line in performance and build quality for medium rpm fans, their pumps are standard Laing pumps which everyone uses and their Photon reservoir series is only rivalled in quality by the Aquacomputer Aqualis series.

I have plenty of fittings from all brands and never had an XSPC fitting fail either. The only things I would not get from them ever would be tubing and coolant.

What's wrong with their coolant. I have never had problems with their coolants.

There is likely nothing wrong with their coolant, it is just a personal choice. I go with distilled water and a biocide/corrosion inhibitor only. I don't get any branded coolant and I should have added this to the previous post to remove any confusion :D
