I am using an Aorus 15p XD laptop for about 10 months. From the last couple days, it is randomly not detecting my internal NVMe SSD and takes me straight to BIOS. And randomly comes back to normal, initially with connecting to power and a power cycle, but from last night it did not want to start by any way and had me worried. After calling Gigabyte support, I was told that I might lose all my data and as a college student, I cannot take that risk. I decided to go to Canada computers for a diagnostics because of data recovery assurance and before leaving, I tried to turn it on and guess what, I turned on like nothing had happened. I am so confused about what to do next. First off, I took a backup of all data into an external SSD, with no effect on data transfer speeds (at 300-600mbps). Checked the internal SSD status and it shows OK with 100% health. So the internal disk also seems to be working fine. Cannot take the risk of taking it apart, but would it be an issue of loose connection, and could reseating the SSD fix it all together? Or would it be a motherboard issue or power related issue? Sending it to Gigabyte for RMA is the best option, right?

Is that the altest available Bios?

What does Hard Disk Sentinel say about the drive?

That's an Adata drive? What does the Adata SSD Toolbox say, is there a firmware update?

Good, that is the very first step to take.

Well, no.

It might, especially if you tend to throw the laptop in a sling bag and walk with a lot of superfluous movement.

Yes, that's what I would recommend you to do if you aren't comfortable with taking the laptop apart. Keep in mind that it might take a while though, an on-campus IT support might help resolve the issue more quickly, if there is one and they are capable.

I will find your Laptop thread and I will recommend an ITX build instead

I did not get a chance to check that. I was just took and backup and prepared it to send it to RMA as I did not know know what would kill it again.

Well, I did carry carefully it in a proper laptop bag. But I wonder if the weather conditions also affect in such a way as one day I took it out with temps around -10 degree Celsius.

I thought it would be best to send for rma as it was covered in warranty and did not want to take a risk of voiding it and I was able drop it off and will pick up myself from the rma facility, eliminating the time it would take for shipping and all.
