First PC Build

Go to solution Solved by Aaron_T,

There isn't much difference in the board partner card's performance. If it were me, I'd probably get a bit cheaper 3070 like a Zotac or Gigabyte model, then use the cash to get a 1440p high refresh rate monitor in stead of 1080p, because a 3070 is going to handle 1440p resolution just fine in most cases.

Another thought you might also consider. At the $3k price point you may be able to squeeze a current gen platform into the build, like a 7600x, AM5 board and DDR5.

Budget (including currency): $3000

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1080p Gaming

Other: I've planned out this PC already. Just looking for tips on anything that needs to be tweaked, upgraded/downgraded.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X

GPU: Asus ROG Strix Gaming OC V2 GeForce RTX 3070

RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 32GB

Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2

PSU: SeaSonic Prime GX-1000

Motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero

Cooler: NZXT Kraken X73 RGB

Case: Lian Li PC-O11
