I need assistance with choosing parts for my new PC.

trisXP

Budget (including currency): I have £400, and a Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super, which I found brand new for under £200, which seemed like a pretty good deal so I brought it.

Country: London, UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, some video editing (nothing crazy) and programming (VS Code)

Other details: I already own a monitor (60Hz) (Might upgrade at a later date)

I don't know enough to make a decision, but these are the parts I was considering to use, if they are not compatible please tell me.

CPU: Ryzen 5 5500

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super

RAM: 16gb (2x8gb sticks) Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3200

Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (I think this is a bad choice, if there are any alternatives please tell me!)

SSD: Crucial P2 500gb (I know it's not much, but I will be able to upgrade in the future)

Case: I don't really know, suggestions would be great!

Fans/Cooling: Depends on the case

Power Supply: Also depends

I'm quite new to the PC building world, so these combinations may be very stupid, but any suggestions / advice would be really helpful!

Have a great rest of your day!!

DS3H is good, but on upgrading CPU you need to buy MB too, still not that bad stince AM4 won't have new CPUs

DS3H is still good enough for up to 5 5600x ryzen

you want decent quality PSU, some don't have things like Overvoltage/Undervolate protection etc.

best is to find recommended W PSU for GPU, and use PSU tierlist, or better ask here if the PSU is good enough

1660 super recommended 400W+ PSU, find one and someone/I will tell you if it's good quality

unless you're getting small form factor case, most cases use ATX PSU format

Fans/Cooling: Depends on the case

case and fans don't really matter much in lower budget builds

1 need is to have airflow, 2 have at least 1 or 2 fans, and 3 maybe dust filters
