parents restrictions

You should have led with this.

Ask your parents to lift the restrictions. this has nothing to do with the school.

So this is a bit unusual, but figured I’d ask anyway.
So I was trying to buy a knife for my friend, just a cheap one to get him started, but I’ve  tried to visit a few websites but keep getting this warning thing.

It’s happened with the websites for Buck, Microtech and Grindworx. I’ve never had this issue before, but it keeps telling me the sites could be phony. Why is this? I’m using data bc I’m on school wifi which blocks them (cause knives)

Anyone know what’s going on?

p.s it’s a screenshot from when I tried to go to Buck but it’s the same message for each site.
I’m on an iPhone 7+ with T-Mobile data of that matters

ok I’m editing it to say that for some reason the Perry Knifeworks site works for some reason

I also tried other weapons manufacturers websites like Sig Sauer and Browning but they were flagged too

Can you show what the show details button shows you? There are many possible causes, and those details will tell you the reason why.

Sure here it is

it says the same things for each website

it may be that something went wrong with the cert.

When I connect to that website it shows that globalsign is the cert signer.

Are you using some software that could be modifying your connection, such as a vpn?

can you please slect more information and show all of the cert info (the full name of the authority)

EDIT: it looks like you are using cisco umbrella DNS security software.

safari doesn't like their certificate.

Are you using something like a work phone or computer that has secondary software installed

If this is intended you need to install the cisco umbrella root certificate (i think) or contact IT if it isn't your device.

That cert is from cisco, not the website. So there is a firewall in the middle that is trying to show the webpage is blocked page instead of the website, and the certs won't allow that.

The OpenDNS makes me think its a DNS filter or some other web filter on the device. Is this a personal device? Is there a VPN?

I’m at school. Wi-Fi is off, I’m using data but that could affect it.
my YouTube on data is permanently on Restricted now and I think that could have been school also

are you using a personal device or a device the school provided?

if it is a personal device, you may just need to clear web data in safari.

sounds your parents have a strict network filter when not on specific known networks.

Did you discuss with them about this? It may be that they have it mis-configured, if they do not block the site on home networks.
