Need Help with Wiimote Issue

I tried using my wiimote after cleaning the shell since battery acid was on it, but when I put it back together, the A button doesn't work, and only decides to kinda work when hovering over a certain thing but thinks its being clicked rapidly.

the A button relies on the membrane pad just as much as it relies on the PCB contact. if the carbon pad on the membrane is dirty or deteriorated it's not going to make propper contact.

What is the membrane pad, and is there a way to fix it or clean it?

the flexible thing that goes right on top of the PCB.

If you clean, try a bit of isopropyl alcohol. Not too much

Maybe its sticky, or a bit gunky
