wd black vs blue

Will i actually be able to notice a difference between the wd blue and the wd black drives? Also i'm on sata 2 will that be a bottleneck, i know it would be for ssd's but i dont think it will be for most if any hdd's. Thanks for the help.

You won't get a bottleneck at all with SATA II, but the Black is noisier and a little quicker than the Blue, whereas the blue is quieter, a little slower, and a little more reliable.

 

But Seagate Barracuda's are as quiet or quieter than Blues, last as long as a Blue, and about as fast as a Black.
