I just recently built a PC out of used parts and I intend to give it to my young cousin as his first legitimate gaming PC.

However, I've run into a problem that I can't seem to fix.

The PC only boots properly to the desktop after a complete shutdown turning off the PSU switch, waiting a few seconds and switching it on again.

Sometimes it just turns on and gives me a blank dark screen, however the monitor IS receiving a signal. This also seems to be happening every time that I restart it from windows.

What could be the cause? The PC is functioning completely fine when it does turn on and boot properly. I'm posting from it now. Here are the specs:

By the way, I tested it both with the Radeon and without it, using onboard graphics, and the same thing happens.

GPU and motherboard Driver updates might help.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?

Gotta be something deeper than that.

When it gets stuck in the black screen i dont even get a BIOS boot up screen.

First try and update bios and maybe change out the CMOS battery. Then look into possible ram issues, then PSU. You could try running with one memory stick for example.

Definitely check your RAM. I had issues like this and later found the issue to be a very slightly improperly seated memory module.
