Dual Graphics Cards

I'm more asking if two cards can work with them being very different apart from a performance standpoint. I already have a 2060 and want to upgrade to 7900 or 4070, should I keep the 2060 and go dual GPUs or get rid of it. Also without any tinkering (plug and play). Also only one monitor will need a powerful card.

Maybe a little tinkering but not a lot

You can just hook up to a single card. No need to worry about anything.

As for no tinker dual gpu stick to nvidia then dont mix amd and nvidia.

Ok but why would 2 cards be needed then?

This sounds like a single gpu usecase. Or do you simply need more screens?

I do not particularly need two screens however it would be extremely helpful - like working on two different areas of a map at the same time for example. I also like to play games while working so that would be good right?

A single card does up to 4 screens.

What does the second card need to do?

What would you be playing whilst working?

Right now nothing you deacribed needs a second card
