A friend of mine has a old 3rd gen core i5 that he is willing to give to me so I can build a proper PC. It has PCIe gen 3. I have found multiple motherboards for it. I want to put a PCIe x1 sata expansion card in it, and the one I found says that it is PCIe Express 3.0. Are these the same? If not, are they compatible? If they are compatible, but not the same, will I lose performance?

Here is the link to the card I want.

https://www.amazon.com/ACTIMED-Controller-Express-Expansion-Compatible/dp/B09L184W57/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=16JKP5SQEIM1B&keywords=pcie%2Bgen%2B3%2Bx1%2Bsata&qid=1673668328&sprefix=pcie%2Bgen%2B3%2Bx1%2Bsata%2Caps%2C533&sr=8-2-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExNVdPVlpMRjg0RDlQJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNjI0NzU5UVBKQk9NT0VQRU1YJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA2NTkxMTIyOUVPS0lDSUI5TkM0JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1

I see PCIe 3.0 and PCI Express 3 mentioned, so yes its PCIe gen 3.

Raspberry PI Zero W 2

If you have any fun ideas for things for me to do with my PI, send me a direct message.

I plan to upgrade within a few months to a proper computer.
