$1,200 Build

Go to solution Solved by Faceman,

With the PSU, it is cheaper than most wattages below 750w. THe reason I went the case and mobo is because they match color wise. And the 770 is beacuse that card will stay in my budget. The case is a must to have a window. I like the 300d, (I think that's what it is called, it's the smaller version of the 750d)

It might be cheaper than other 750Ws, but it isn't going to give you any better performance. Here is an updated build with the 780, and a windowed side panel case, that matches your color scheme.

Damn, that's a nice case, but I like the "non-flashy" look that the h440 and the define r4 has. Also, do you know of another case that has a bigger window?

Thanks for all the help!

Happy to help! I'm typing from my phone right now, so can't look at PcP, when I'm home tomorrow I will try and find other cases that work. Also, that 240GB SSD often goes on sale for $90, so we could save you $20 there. The CX600M goes on sale for $45, so there's another $5. I will also look at Microcenter's motherboard inventory to see if there is a less expensive Z87 with a black/red color scheme. Do you want the motherboard to be SLI capable? If not, we can probably save you $30 more dollars, giving you $55 more to work with towards a nicer case, case fans, CPU cooler, or just money to save.

Would you be willing to go with an all black case, and then add red LEDs? Or paint/design the outside with the pattern and color that you want.

Yes I would like the motherboard sli compatible. I think that by the time I would want to upgrade my 780 would be a time where a lot more games are compatible. I would be fine for an all black case. Also, I am getting paid again soon so that should be another 200.

I just changed the movie to a mail g45 gaming. Saved bucks there.

Wow that auto-correct. I changed the motherboard to a msi g45 gaming edition.

Very nice, that is a good quality motherboard that fits your color scheme.  Ya know, if you are really dead set on the H440, you could have everything plugged into your motherboard and work, just not in a case yet.  When you finally get enough money for the case that you like, then you could place it.

If you are willing to go with an all-black case, you have seemingly limitless options.  Personally, I prefer to go with a less expensive case and fill it with high quality case fans.  That is just my preference.  I will outline a few case options below:

Thermaltake Commander MS-I Epic Edition (Black/Red) ~$45

NZXT Phantom 410 (Black) ~$80

Cooler Master Storm Enforcer (Black/Red) ~$88 <-- I really like this one, it is massive, popular, excellent cable management features, modular HDD bays, fits your color scheme.

Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed (Black) ~ $90

Fractal Design R4 Windowed (Black) ~$90

Corsair Vengeance C70 (Black) ~ $120

NZXT H440 (Red/Black) ~$120
