PC Spins but doesnt Post

Hi so I had just built a pc today or so my friend who has built pcs before did and when we turned it on the fans and gpu fans spun but when we connected it to a monitor it never posted I am worried as we've called a friend who knows a lot about pcs and gave us his thoughts on it like, Reseating the RAM, putting the cpu back on and putting the fan back on top, booting without graphics card but no dice. I am really beginning to become worried as I spent around $850 USD for most of the parts and all parts are being powered. Can I get some help?

What parts are we talking about here? Fan spin on the GPU means not a whole lot. Did you plug the additional power cables into the graphics card? Is your power supply capable enough to handle the hardware?
