Right, so i'm incredibly new to building pcs, only built this one in January 2014 with the help of one of Linus' guides,

Now i got the ASUS P8Z77-V LX Motherboard and a 3570K, and I was wondering how the best way for a total noob to get a decent permanent overclock.

Firstly, it's following Linus' 3570K/3770K video and going through BIOS,

Secondly, theres the option of using ASUS' TurboV Evo, manually changing things with Prime95 running in the background.

Thirdly, which is the easiest option is to be going into the BIOS and putting it on Auto and setting a clock speed, but i've heard this is a horrible way of doing it.

Thanks in advance

It is the horrible way. Use OCCT or IBT instead of prime.

what cooler are you using?

Downloaded OCCT, and i'm only using a CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 Evo :)

that's probably going to be a problem, set your voltage to stock and see what it can do without increasing voltage since temperature is going to be limiting your overclock, most likely.
