Asus A88XM-plus FM2+ motherboard

Jumper118

The asus A88XM-plus is a mid range matx motherboard.

The facts:

The board comes with 2 sata cables and the usual other rubbish.

The board supports all the fm2 and fm2+ cpu's and apu's

The board supports 2 way cf and dual graphics.

The top slot is x16 and the bottom slot is x4

It has a legacy pci port

Pro's

Excellent bios in which you can set voltage with voltage offset, you can tune load line calibration. advance memory timings, northbridge frequencies and enable/disable power saving features.

i have test 2 apu's and 2 cpu's in this board and had all of them up to 1.5v without the vrm overheating

all fan headers are pwm

lots of sata ports

the box is a good test bench

onboard mem ok button

has ps2 ports for the mouse and the keyboard

Cons:

It looks awful so people with windowed case will not like it, brown pcb, yellow slots, gold heatsinks

the chipset heatsink gets quite hot and requires active cooling if you put plenty of voltage through it

only 3 fan headers on the board

Conclusion:

this board is a great matx board for the money. the bois is much much better than some of the other boards priced at the £45-55 mark. The bios is being updated regularly by asus. The list of memory tested on this board is very very good.
