On a budget you're better off with a fx 6300 and a you should have room for a 7750  ;)

Oh, i didn't see you had 2gb of ram. definitely make that 8gb!

I would recommend a Nvidia card if your going to use Photoshop. Ive heard they like cuda cores.

Just get a 2x4GB kit for your RAM.

honestly, yeah i will do 8 gb of ram or atleast 4gb but i was searching around for a fx 6300 and there are like none in stores around new zealand at this time, and if they are they are practically the same price as that intel i5 3330..ill check out a few sites to see if they have any in.. if im going for a fx 6300 what motherboard should i change to?

EDIT - i found a fx 6300 6 core 3.5ghz for about 185.00 NZD about 100 dollars cheaper. :D just gotta convince my mum to let me order the stuff at the end of the month

EDIT EDIT :L as for the 7750 whats the difference between 1gb GDDR5/ 2gb GDDR3/ 4gb GDDR3?

i found a 7750 for 1 gb gddr5 149 nzd where as the 6570 2gb gddr3 is 110 NZD and the 4gb version is 133 NZD

2gb of ram I'm pretty sure you should get more than that maybe 4 It will help your gaming experience much more enjoyable Other than that everything else looks good for a nice first build/budget

thanks :) yeah i will upgrade definately but eh, to me, this is just a building block as in the future i want to be a computer hardware engineer/technician. i love playing around with computer parts and i finally convinced my girlfriend to let me do this as i will only need to upgrade a few parts for about 150-200 to make it up to date :D

Case: NZXT Tempest 410 elite(I use it, great tooless case, 50-70 US) or Coolermaster Haf 912 (60 US)

CPU: FX 8350(190 US)

CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212(30 US)

GPU: Asus HD7770 2GB( 150 US) --> if you cant find it get a regular HD 7770 1GB( 120 US)

RAM: 8GB ram(Whatever brand you find from the following: G.Skill, Patriot, Corsair, Kingston)(around 40-60 US)

PSU: Corsair CX 500W(53 US)

MOBO:Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3(130 US)

Total: Maximum 683 US( including a CPU cooler that I saw you didnt include with your build)--> 818 NZD

For here you can add a Seagate Momentus XT hybrid(SSD+HDD) 500 or 750 GB (100 US)because that 80gb you got is crappy and maybe is about to fail and loose all of your data.

CPU: AMD FX-6100 Black Edition @3.9GHz GPU: XFX 7970 DD (1062/1520 MHz) MOBO: ASUS Sabertooth 990FXA(1st Revision) RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB @ 1333MHz Storage: Corsair Force 3 120GB(Boot) + WD Green 1TB(storage) PSU: FSP AURUM 600W(80+ Gold) CPU Cooler: Cryorig M9a  Case: NZXT Tempst 410 Elite(Mid-Tower) Mouse: Logitech G602(Manufacturer Refurbished) Keyboard: Noppoo Choc Mini(Cherry MX Blue) AUDIO:Sennheiser HD 598+ASUS Xonar DGX Monitor: LG M2280DF 21.5" 1080p(TN-75Hz)

aha yeah probably will lose all its data soon! i will however upgrade it! i wish i could order all that stuff over minus the case because the k350 looks baus! but thanks for for that!

im thinking of going with the fx 6300 and maybe that same motherboard if they have the same sockets. will save me about 50-60 USD but with the gpu, whats the difference between the those two? (hd 7770 2gb and hd7770 1gb? are they comparable) and would a hd 7750 1gb ddr5 match them?

IMO the K350 doesn't look like a baus, as you said. Maybe it is only me. But if you want performance/price you should better not spend 100+ dollars on a case.

With your new edit I think you would be better off going with the i5 cpu rather because you like to edit with photoshop and it will process it better.

true. didnt think of that cheers
