4080 on last gen motherboard/CPU....

DeepC49

So im building a new PC, the plan was a 3080ti paired with a 9 5900x on a x570 motherboard.

I've already purchased a x570 aorus elite motherboard, BUT i also ended up buying a 4080 because it was not much more than 3080ti and has more performance.

here is my dilemma, if i continue my build on the x570 mobo with a 5900x will i get a huge bottleneck?

OR

am i better off to purchase a next gen motherboard/CPU and ram?

any advice would be great before i proceed with my build. I would just like a idea of peformance loss of a 4080 on last gen hardware compared to next gen.

pc will be used for :gaming, streaming and creating / editing videos

Most likely not. If you're targeting something like 1080p and some insane refresh rate then the 5900X might have issues in some titles, that's about it. Assuming you're going 1440p or 4K there should be no bottleneck that impacts your experience.
