I want a new SSD, but I have windows 8 upgrade edition

Hi guys.

I'd like to change my SSD but I have the upgrade version of windows 8. As I understand it this needs a previous install of windows to active. How would I go about doing the switch over? Would I have to use mirroring software to install 8? Maybe after that do a clean install?

If you only have the upgrade version, just install a separate OS, then use the upgrade software. If you can, buy a retail version of Windows 8.

In the Windows 8 license though it says that my windows 7 license is cancelled by upgrading to 8. (So I can't take my windows 7 key and use it on another computer)

Thinking that the mirroring software might be the best way
