can I put a ssd on a old cumputer
and if I can how many ssd and how many hards

Yes, any SATA interface can use an SSD. I just built two LGA1155 2nd-gen Intels and both have 500GB SATA SSDs. Crucial MX500 is a pretty good one.

You're only limited by how many SATA ports, but you can't daisy chain them AFAIK.

I don't badmouth others' input, I'd appreciate others not badmouthing mine. *** More below ***

Due to the above, I've likely revised posts <30 min old, and do not think as you do.

As said, yes you could, only SATA SSD, no NVME.

Go check the motherboard's website, see how many SATA ports are there and how many is functional without limitation, that's how much SATA SSD/HDD you could install.

Occassionaly visits the forum when I have nothing to do at work.

Well if it has PCI-e slots, you could put NVME in.

Do not buy it. It is only good for retro tinkering at this point. It is beyond being useful for a day to day machine. And as for cost, it should be free (or at most, a beer and burger)
