I am getting a new GPU and there is a new GeForce RTX™ 3060 Ti version that carries GDDR6X memory instead of GDDR6 memory. I found it on the MSI website and the only version of it that I was able to find on basically any eletironics store you can think of was a 3 fan version on Newegg but that will not fit in my PC. Does anyone know anything about it. I'm thinking maybe its not being sold on retail yet. I'm not sure. Its on the MSI website https://us.msi.com/Graphics-Card/GeForce-RTX-3060-Ti-VENTUS-2X-8GD6X/Overview but is sold no where. any input is apricated.

Well it is technically a last gen card, best place to find one would be Ebay. Probably find one for pretty cheap on there too.

Where do you see it has GDDR6X memory? I see only reference to the memory and it's in the main page which says G6 memory.

There is a standard GDDR6 3060 Ti: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-3060-ti.c3681
And a GDDR6X version that launch October 19 2022, so relatively recent SKU: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-3060-ti-gddr6x.c3935

Everything else seems equal, it's just a completely normal 3060 Ti with GDDR6X slapped on top. PCPartPicker US doesn't clock any as in-stock anywhere, so it may have been a paper launch or just for SI companies.

That looks like it's a cracker of a 3060 ti. I have a 3060 ti. Mine is 200 watt and one pcie power connector but that one you linked is 225 watt and two pcie power connectors. So it's not just the fact it has gddr6x. It's had a power boost as well. I'd love to see how that one performs against my own one.

Yeah that could be the case, thanks for the input

Yeah, that's the reason I wanted the newer 3060 Ti, its not much better but for hardly any more that a normal one it can't hurt. Some benchmark websites say it should preform 7-9% better due to the faster memory and boost speed, but who knows

I found a 3 fan version on Newegg but I have heard that 3 fan GPU's, especially for a 3060 Ti are overkill and might not fit in all computers

No issue with overkill cooling, just lets you run the card quieter which is always nice. As for fitment, you can look at the spec sheet for your case and it will state what size GPU it can fit, then look at the dimensions for that 3-fan and see if it fits. Most cases will fit 3-fan coolers unless they're very short cases, like the Fractal Meshify C and such.
